ARTIST STATEMENT

Grounded in my own experiences, my work serves as an intimate exploration and documentation of the intricate pressures placed on women in contemporary society. Through my art, I aim to craft visual interpretations of cultural norms, expectations, and ideals of femininity, while shedding light on the challenges of reconciling these societal standards with personal identity. These themes take shape in various forms and situations within my work, with some of my paintings portraying women adorned with traditional and iconic feminine symbols such as quilts, tea cups, veils, and flowers. I strive to offer a critical and satirical perspective on the female archetypes perpetuated by contemporary culture and media.
